On Friday, November 14, a delegation of seven members led by President Rahman of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), one of our university's most important partner institutions with overseas bases, paid a courtesy visit to President Wakahara.

From our university, participants included President Akihiro Wakahara, Director Mutsuko Jinbo, Professor Atsunori Matsuda (Chair of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Information Engineering), Professor Kazuaki Sawada (Director of the Institute for Research on Next-generation Semiconductor and Sensing Science IRES²), Professor Kotaro Takayama (Director of the Research Center for Agrotechnology and Biotechnology), Associate Professor Go Kawamura (Department of Electrical and Electronic Information Engineering), Associate Professor Tan Wai Kian (Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences), and Assistant Professor Khoo Pei Loon (Department of Mechanical Engineering).

Discussions were held regarding international collaborative research projects, including those in the semiconductor field led by Professor Asrulnizam, an alumnus of our university, and Director Sawada, and in the field of advanced agricultural engineering led by Professor Takayama. Furthermore, an agreement was reached to renew the inter-university exchange agreement to more actively promote exchanges among students and faculty members.
