Applications for 2026 are expected to open around November 2025.
For Prospective Applicants for the 2026 Academic Year
Regarding the Letter of Recommendation Format
Until the 2025 academic year, applicants were allowed to use any format for the letter of recommendation. However, starting from the 2026 academic year, all applicants are required to use the designated format provided by TUT.

MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation, Special Program) is available for participants in the following four programs:
1. Mechanical Engineering
Educational Program for Digital-Mechanical Engineers Promoting Industry DX
Number of Candidates to be recommended by TUT to MEXT
Master's course: 4, Doctoral Course: 1
2. Electrical and Electronic Information Engineering
Educational Program for Electronic Material Human Resources Contributing Asian Region
Number of Candidates to be recommended by TUT to MEXT
Master's course: 1, Doctoral Course: 2
3. Computer Science and Engineering
Human resource development of local industry DX for Asian area by collaboration with Japanese companies
Number of Candidates to be recommended by TUT to MEXT
Master's course: 4, Doctoral Course: 1
4. Architecture and Civil Engineering
Program on Training University Teachers and Leaders for Architecture and Civil Engineering through Multi-Institutional Collaboration
Number of Candidates to be recommended by TUT to MEXT
Master's course: 1, Doctoral Course: 4
It is NOT possible to apply for this scholarship in addition to the "University Recommendation (General Program)".
