Schedule of Admission & VISA

International students of Toyohashi Tech must obtain the visa of "Student" before coming to Japan.
We support International students to get visa, and here are the procedures and the schedule of getting visa. It takes at least 1-2 months to get your visa. Please make sure to have enough time for the preparation.

Necessary Documents

  1. Application form for Certificate of Eligibility
    DOWNLOAD: Form for Certificate of Eligibility Application
  2. Photocopy of your passport or certificate of you citizenship
  3. 2 photographs (3×4cm) ※ Must be jpeg and under 50kb [example]
  4. Financial certificate as follows (Must be an original copy either in English or Japanese)
    1. If you will support yourself, the bank balance statement is required.
    2. If you will receive the scholarship, the certificate of scholarship is required.
    3. If you will receive remittance from your country, the bank balance statement of remitter and the documents to show the relationship is required.
  • Please send those documents by e-mail first, and send by international express mail such as EMS, DHL and FEDEX.

Procedures Notes
1) Applicant Find a supervisor from our website or other ways and get acceptance.
2) Applicant Download the application forms from our website, and send all required documents to Student Affairs Division. Send scanned data(PDF) by Email first, then originals to Educational Affairs Division by international express mail (EMS, DHL etc.).
3) University University committees screen the documents and give acknowledgement. Then, official "Notice of Admission to Toyohashi Tech" shall be issued. It takes 1-2 months after the documents are submitted
4) University Apply for Certificate of Eligibility for the student to the Immigration Bureau. Usually, it takes 1 month to be issued.
5) Immigration Bureau Issue the Certificate of Eligibility, and send it to our university. If any false statement or report is found, applicant is not allowed to enter Japan.
6) University Send the Certificate of Eligibility and Notice of Admission to the applicant by international express mail (DHL).
7) Applicant Bring Certificate of Eligibility and Notice of Admission to the nearest Embassy or Japanese Consulate General, and apply for "Student" visa. 3-7 days are needed by Embassy
(depends on the countries).
8) Application Notify your flight schedule to our university. So that your tutor can welcome you at the airport if they are available.
9) Application Pay admission fee upon enrollment if necessary. Date of admission for a Research Student is set with the date of payment.
10) Student Do your research and study hard. and enjoy the life in Japan.
