9月25日に2025年度豊橋技術科学大学大学院修了式・学位記授与式を挙行しました。
授与式では、若原学長に代わり神保理事より、学位記（博士後期課程8名、博士前期課程32名）が授与されました。

若原学長からの式辞は次のとおりです。

Congratulatory Address to the September 2025 Graduates

September 25, 2025

Congratulations to all those who have completed the Master's and Doctoral programs at Toyohashi University of Technology. This year, 32 students in the master's program and 8 students in the doctoral program received their degrees from Toyohashi University of Technology. I wish to express my deepest respect to all of you who have dedicated yourselves to research and achieved results far from your hometowns. I also extend my heartfelt congratulations to your families. I am deeply grateful to your supervisors and all those involved who have provided guidance and support up to this day.

You have devoted considerable time and tremendous effort to complete your graduate studies. Today is the day your hard work pays off. At the same time, completing your program marks a new beginning for your next challenge.

I believe you have acquired a wealth of knowledge and absorbed many things during your time at this university. Beyond lectures, through seminars, experiments, and trial and error in research, you have not only gained knowledge but also learned how to conduct scientific research--including setting research goals, developing methodologies for execution, and managing research involving collaborators. These skills represent the true assets you have gained at this university. I am confident that the wisdom and knowledge you have acquired here will serve you well in tackling the diverse challenges you will face in the future.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, global lockdowns and restrictions on social activities severely disrupted education and research. However, humanity rapidly advanced digital technology, enabling access to high-quality education and research from anywhere in the world through online and remote methods. The new technologies and science that emerged during this pandemic era are a prime example of turning adversity into opportunity. Japan has a famous proverb: "災い転じて福と成す", in English, "Turning misfortune into fortune". The meaning of this proverb is to skillfully utilize the misfortune that befalls you and devise ways to make it a seed of happiness. It suggests that when bad things happen, you become determined never to fail again, and this very resolve can lead to happiness. To our graduates, I hope you will draw on the wisdom, strength, and courage gained during this challenging time as a precedent, applying it to your future research lives and contributions to society.

The greatest asset gained at this university is the network of friends, faculty, staff, and community members. Though university life spans only a few short years, friendships forged while pursuing goals with youthful passion will provide lifelong support. Extend the friendships gained here into new connections, and maintain your network through cyberspace even after leaving Toyohashi. Also, maintain strong ties with the university's alumni association. Cooperation across generations holds greater power than relationships limited to your own age group. There will inevitably come a time when you need support to solve problems. At that time, the friendships and connections cultivated at university will become a powerful source of support.

Finally, obtaining a degree and entering society does not mean your learning has ended. Rather, this is where true learning begins. The technical skills and research foundations you acquired as students may have stemmed from intellectual curiosity. But what matters now is applying them for the benefit of humanity and contributing to the world. To achieve this, in addition to the fundamental academic skills you have cultivated, strong passion and initiative are indispensable. No matter what challenges you face, please continue to pursue your goals with passion.

You are young people of outstanding intellect, stamina, and character who have completed this university's rigorous academic and research programs. Do not fear failure. Above all, face your strengths and aspirations with courage and passion. The future of the world rests on you, the young generation.
