Best of Best -Professor Fukumoto, Department of Mechanical Engineering Inducted into Fellowship of ASM International

On October 18th, Professor Fukumoto attended the Certification Ceremony for the ASM International 2011 "Class of Fellows" (FASM).
The academic society has a total of 36,000 members, and it covers a wide range of disciplines relating to materials.
The office of Fellow was established within the Society in 1969. Fellowships are awarded to strictly-selected persons, chosen from members all over the world, who have made significant contributions and have achieved notable research results in the fields of Materials Science and Engineering.
This year, 26 persons were awarded Fellowships.
The number of Certified Researchers has reached nearly 2,000 in the last 42 years, and Professor Fukumoto is the 27th Japanese national to have been certified.
Reason of Fellowship: For outstanding contributions to thermal spray science and technology and for mentoring of students.
