Ms. Khanam Shamsunnahar, Doctoral Course student awarded by Japan Association for Human and Environmental Symbiosis

At the 14th Congress of the Japan Association for Human and Environmental Symbiosis held at the Ritsumeikann University on September 17 and 18, a "Presented Paper Award" was given to Khanam Shamsunnahar, who is undertaking a Doctoral course under Prof. Miyata at the Environmental and Life Sciences Laboratories.
This award is given to an author of a paper presented at the Congress that was held the previous year, and which was subsequently evaluated as "excellent research relating to environmental symbiosis".
She has studied the social activities of the Grameen Bank, which was established by the Nobel Laureate Mohammed Yunus. Through her own investigations, her research verified that the activities of the Grameen Bank have significantly contributed to improvement of the problems caused by poverty and the environment in Bangladesh.
