Most Cited Article Award from the Journal of Web Semantics to Prof. Aono and Dr Hanif, Department of Information and Computer Sciences

Professor Masaki Aono of the Department of Information and Computer Sciences and Dr Seddiqui Hanif, who completed a doctoral course in Electronics Information Engineering in March 2010, received the Most Cited Article Award from the Journal of Web Semantics published by the world's largest publisher, Elsevier, which focuses on medical and scientific technologies and is located in Amsterdam, Holland.

The 13-page paper entitled "An efficient and scalable algorithm for segmented alignment of oncologies of arbitrary size" was the most cited paper in published journals for a 5-year period from 2006 to 2010.

Dr Hanif is currently associate professor of engineering in the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, at the Bangladesh Chittagong University.
