The article by Professor Hideto Tsuji et al., Department of Applied Chemistry and Life Science appeared on the Outside Back Cover of CrystEngComm (Royal Society of Chemistry), 21/2019. The title of the article is "Simultaneous stereocomplex cocrystallization from coexisting two types of stereocomplexationable poly(lactide) systems". Poly(lactide) is biobased and biodegradable polymer. The stereocomplexed materials from enantiomeric poly(L-lactide) and poly(D-lactide) have attracted much attention as advanced poly(lactide) (PLA)-based materials because of their superior mechanical performance as well as the thermal degradation resistance of stereocomplexed PLA materials compared to that of conventional PLA-based materials. In this article, simultaneous stereocomplex cocrystallization of two types of stereocomplexationable poly(lactide) systems, four-armed stereodiblock poly(lactide) and one-armed poly(L-lactide) and poly(D-lactide), was investigated.
