TUT visited by six members of the Malaysian Public Service Department on October 17

22 Oct 2018

On October 17 (Wed), president of the Malaysian Public Service Department the Honorable Datuk Seri Borhan Dolah and five other members from the department visited TUT.

The Malaysian Public Service Department is the administrative agency of the Malaysian governmental exchange student program. This visit came as a result of the Malaysian authorities wishing to visit TUT, as we are a university who has accepted exchange students from Malaysia for many years.

After visits to the Electronics-Inspired Interdisciplinary Research Institute, Professor Michiteru Kitazaki's laboratory, and other university facilities, the party engaged in discussions with University Director and Vice President Terashima, Vice President Matsuda, Professor Takashima, Professor Daimon and Associate Professor Lim. Despite the limited time, all members were able to engage in meaningful dialog with the guests, with university members providing the guests with an overview of the university, and how we plan to accept Malaysian students going forward.

From here, the group moved to the Hibari Lounge for an informal discussion with some of the current Malaysian exchange students studying at TUT. From beginning to end, discussions took place in a pleasant and relaxed manner, with all students listening eagerly to the department president the Honorable Datuk Seri Borhan Dolah's speech.

It is expected that TUT will go to play an even more active role in the acceptance of Malaysian international students going forward as a result of this visit.
