On June 21, a special forum was held at TUT as a joint public event by TUT and Toyohashi-city. Approximately 170 people attended the forum, among the audience were residents of the city as wells as students and faculty members of TUT.

The forum was organized in two sessions. In the first session, Mr. Koichi Sahara, Mayor of Toyohashi City, outlined the project, followed by detailed reporting on the project activities by Mr. Kazunori Asakawa, Director of the Water Purification Division.

In the second session, a panel discussion took place, on the theme of "Overseas Supports through Government-University Collaboration". The discussion among the panel was centered on insightful ideas such as international cooperation, government-university collaboration, research and development of technologies adaptable to the locals as well as social implementation. The floor was then opened to the audience, going on to active interaction with the panel. The sessions illustrated that this special reporting session is a significant joint event.
