2. Reactive scheduling
3. Supply chain management with considering inventory and schedule

Theme1:Integration of operation planning and scheduling for sheet metal processing

Overview

In sheet metal processing, reducing the waste of raw materials and managing the suitable production schedule are the important factors for the efficient manufacturing. Nesting is executed to determine the optimal layout for raw material. And scheduling is executed to determine the suitable schedule. There occurs a certain trade-off between nesting and scheduling. Therefore, those problems should be considered simultaneously in order to increase the efficiency of entire manufacturing activity. Under such understanding, in this study, we propose an integrated method of nesting and scheduling.

Theme2:Reactive scheduling

Overview

Recently, flexible scheduling systems are required to cope with dynamic changes of market requirements and manufacturing environments. A reactive scheduling method is one of the dynamic scheduling methods that modify an initial production schedule disturbed by environmental changes in manufacturing systems. In this study, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) based reactive scheduling method has been proposed to modify the pre-determined initial schedules when the delay of manufacturing processes occurs or the emergent jobs arrive to the manufacturing systems.

Theme3:Supply chain management with considering inventory and schedule

Overview

Trends of globalization and advances in Information Technology have created opportunity in collaborative manufacturing across national borders. A dynamic supply chain utilizes these advances to enable more flexibility in business cooperation. This research proposes a concurrent decision making framework for such a dynamic supply chain model. The dynamic supply chain is formed by autonomous negotiation among agents based on multi agents approach. Instead of generating negotiation aspects (such as amount, price and due date) arbitrary, this framework proposes to utilize the information available at operational level of an organization in order to generate realistic negotiation aspect.
