Low-cost and low-power analog frontend (AFE) in standard CMOS process is required for not only consumer communication devices but medical equipments (MEs) and sensor systems, in which several sensor devices are arrayed. In general, sensor provides weak electrical signals; voltage, current, or impedance. These signals should be appropriately amplified and digitized under ultra-low power consumption in a small occupied area. Therefore, a purpose of this study is to investigate a novel circuit technique achieving above requirements.
Other targets are power-supply circuits, radio-frequency(RF) circuits, oscillators, and signal processing circuits in order to realize a smart micro sensor chip for ubiquitous sensor network.
