TUT, one of the unique universities of technology with about 2,000 students, there are more than 200 international students from 26 different countries.
We have varieties of ways of admission from the 1st year undergraduate course to the doctoral course as well as short-term exchange programme.
All students will be taught the basics and the specials of the field repeatedly with our distinctive "spiral education system."

Admission courses and grades of TUT:
1) Undergraduate course (start in April) 
undergraduate 1st year [Japanese] 4-year programme
undergraduate 3rd year [Japanese] 2-year programme

All classes are taught in Japanese.
International applicants must take the Examination for Japanese University Admission for  International Students [EJU] organized by JASSO.

Application deadlines 
 for 1st year: End of November - Beginning of December
 for 3rd year: Middle of May
2) Postgraduate - Master's course
English Master's course (start in October) 2-year programme
General Master's course (start in April) [Japanese] 2-year programme

Both courses accept application for Japanese government scholarship under the university recommendation at the same time of the course application.

 for English course: January (with government scholarship application) or June
 for General course: Beginning of December
3) Postgraduate - Doctoral course
English Doctoral course (start from October) 3-year programme
General Doctoral course (start from April or October) 3-year programme

General course accepts application for Japanese government scholarship under the university recommendation at the same time of the course application.

**Japanese language skill is not required for both doctoral courses.
Application deadlines;
 for English course: June
 for General course: August, May, September or December.
4) Short-term programme
undergraduate or postgraduate

Undergraduate level - Special Audit Students are able to start their study at the beginning of every semester: April, or October. 
Postgraduate level -Special Research Students are able to start their research at any time of the year.
Application deadlines;
 for undergraduate: 5 months prior to the month of enrolment
 for postgraduate: 4 months prior to the month of enrolment
5) Research student
for the preparation of your postgraduate study

We accept research students throughout a year, but basically the entrance month is in April or October.
Application deadline: 4 months prior to the month of enrolment.
6) Twinning programme
Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia
HoChiMinh City College of Technology, Vietnam

Students of specific universities are able to complete their Master's programme in our English Master's course.
1 student of each university are able to apply for Japanese government scholarship and upto 3 students are able to receive financial support.

Applicaation deadlines:
 January (with Japanese government scholarship application) or June

Category of international students in TUT:
1) Japanese government scholarship student
Those who receive scholarship from Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho, MEXT) for study and research in TUT.
There are three ways to apply to this scholarship.
  a) University recommendation (Postgraduate course only)
Application deadline: January
1) General Master's/Doctoral course, 2) English Master's course, or 3) Twinning programme is applicable. Click here for the details.

General course:
Master's course(start in April) or Doctoral course (start in April or October)
Arrival at University: 
 October (as Research Student, or Master's/Doctoral course student)
 Admission to General Master's course: in April
 Admission to General Doctoral Course: in April or October next year, or April year after
 Length of scholarship: 2 - 4.5 years (depends on the conditions)  
*Eligible to take Japanese Training Course
**Research students will take an entrance exam for Master's/Doctoral course.
***Awardee can apply for the extension of scholarship.

English Course
 Master's course only (start in October)
 No extension is allowed.

Twinning Programme students
 2nd year of their Master's course (start in October), for 1 year only
*HoChiMinh City College of Technology, and Institut Teknologi Bandung only
**No extension is allowed.
  b)  Embassy recommendation
General Courses only
 All regular courses are available.
 (Undergraduate, General Master's course and General Doctoral course)
 Arrival at University: April or October (as a Research student)
*Eligible to take Japanese Training Course.
**Research students will take an entrance exam for Master's/Doctoral course.
***Please ask Japanese embassy in your country for the details. 
 
Admission: 
 - Undergraduate course: in April
   *1 year language training before (in Tokyo or Osaka). 
 - Master course: in April  
 - Doctoral course: in April or October
   *Take the Entrance Examination as a research student.
  c)  Domestic selection
This programme is for self-financing students in Japan. It is quite competitive, but 1-2 students are selected every year from our university.
Eligibility:
 - General course students at graduate school of engineering
 - 4th year students of undergraduate course
Application: October

2) Self-financing international student
Those who finance themselves are able to find a scholarship in Japan, but be sure to have enough money before coming to Japan.
  a)  General Course
All courses are available.
Admission
 for Undergraduate 1st, 3rd year in April
 for Master's course in April
 for Doctoral course in April or October

  b)  Master's programme given in English

English course starts in October (for two years)
  Application deadline: January or June
Twinning Programme(for one year)
  Application deaadline: January or June
- HoChiMinh City University of Technology (HCMUT/VietNum)
- Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB/Indonesia)
*Twinning programme students may apply for financial support.
  c)  Doctoral programme given in English
Admission in October
  d)  Research students and short-term exchange program 
Research Student
Entrance available from April to January
Short-term Programme 
 - Special Research Student (postgraduate)
 - Special Audit Student (Undergraduate)

3) Foreign government scholarship student
Those who receive scholarship from their home countryfs government. Now we are mostly accepting Malaysian government scholarship student in our undergraduate course. Several other government scholarship program will be acceptable.
*Please ask your country's embassy or governmental organization for scholarships by yourselves.
  a)  General Course
Entrance Examination for the 1st year (undergraduate or postgraduate)
  Admission in April or October
  b)  Special Course
Master's Program Given in English 
 Admission in October (for 2 years)
Doctor's Program Given in English 
 Admission in October (for 3 years)
