The Irago Conference 2015 was held

30 Oct 2015

For two days on October 22 and 23, The Irago Conference 2015, an international conference for interdisciplinary research, was held at the Irago Sea-Park & Spa Hotel in Tahara.

This international conference has been held annually since Toyohashi Tech's Electronics-Inspired Interdisciplinary Research Institute (EIIRIS) sponsored it in 2011 with the aim of providing an "interdisciplinary platform".
This fifth event was cosponsored by Toyohashi Tech's EIIRIS and The University of Electro-Communications. The conference included 12 invited lecturers, four oral presentations, eight graduate student session presentations, and 99 poster presentations.
In addition to the attendees from Japanese universities and research institutes, there were attendees from all over the world, including the United Kingdom, India, and South Korea.

There were interesting lectures from top class researchers in a variety of fields based on the keywords of observation, measurement, and sensing. Participants voted on the Best Presentation Award to select a graduate student session winner, who was then awarded a prize.
Additionally, this year's conference included arrangements for internet broadcasting. At the banquet, the attendees enjoyed a tezutsu (hand-held) fireworks demonstration and a professional jazz concert, and the young students enlivened the venue by interacting directly with the top researchers in their different fields.

Some of the papers presented at this international conference were published as peer-reviewed, open-access papers.
