1974(Apr 11) Decision is made to set up a Technical Science Graduate School (tentative name) in Toyohashi City under the 1974 Government budget.
1976 (May 25) TUT's establishment announced according to the modified National School Establishment Law [Law No. 26, 1976].
1976 (Oct 1) TUT is founded.
1978 (Apr 1) The Language Center is opens.
1978 (Apr 24) First enrollment ceremony held.
1979 (Apr 1) The Research Center of Physical Fitness, Sports and Health opens.
1980 (Apr 1) Master's Programs established in the Graduate School of Engineering.
1980 (Apr 1) Master's Programs are established in the Graduate School of Engineering.
The Technology Development Center opens.
1981 (Apr 1) The Research Center for Chemometrics opens.
1982 (Apr 1) The Manufacturing Technology Center opens.
1986 (Apr 1) Doctoral Programs in Materials System Engineering and Systems and Information Engineering are established in the Graduate School of Engineering.
1987 (Apr 1) Doctoral Program in General Energy Engineering is established in the Graduate School of Engineering.
1988 (Apr 1) Department of Knowledge-based Information Engineering opens.
1991 (Apr 1) Master's Program in Knowledge-based Information Engineering is established in the Graduate School of Engineering.
1993 (Apr 1) Department of Ecological Engineering opens.
1995 (Apr 1) Doctoral Programs of Graduate School of Engineering are reorganized to establish programs in Mechanical and Structural System Engineering, Functional Materials Engineering, Electronic and Information Engineering, and Environment and Life Engineering.
1996 (Apr 1) Department of Energy Engineering and Energy Engineering degree courses are renamed as Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering degree courses respectively.
The Multimedia Center opens.
1997 (Apr 1) Master's Program in Ecological Engineering is established in Graduate School of Engineering.
1998 (Apr 1) The Research Center for Future Technology opens.
2000 (Dec 1) Enrollment in Special Master's Program in English starts.
2001 (Apr 1) The International Cooperation Center for Engineering Education Development (ICCEED) opens.
2002 (Apr 1) International Student Center opens.
2002 (Sep 25) Venture Business Laboratory opens.
2004 (Mar 10) Incubation Center for Venture Business opens.
2004 (Apr 1) National University Corporation TUT is establish.
2004 (Dec 1) Research Center for Future Vehicle opens.
2005 (Apr 1) Intelligent Sensing System Research Center (ISSRC),
Center for Collaborative Regional Planning and Design (CCR), Interdisciplinary Future Environment
Ecological Design Research Center (InFEED) open.
2006 (Oct 1) 30th Anniversary of foundation
Research Center for Agrotechnology and Biotechnology, Research Center for Advanced Potonic InfomationMemories (APIM) Open
2010 (Apr 1) University reformation;
two semesters, 8 departments become 5 new departments
2010 (Oct 1) New Master's English course starts
