Joint Research Projects under the Core University Program

In November 1998, we started the Support Project for the Establishment of New Departments at Lampung University, Indonesia, in order to establish three new departments: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial Chemistry. The main items for cooperation were as follows:

  1. Creating syllabuses

  2. Choosing standard English textbooks

  3. Making experimental textbooks for students

  4. Explanation of the use of experimental equipment

  5. Others

Funds from the TUT budget were used to send professors to Lampung University to collaborate on the items described above. That budget support ended in March 2000. Two professors were sent to take part in the project in December 1998, three in October 1999, and three in March 2000. In addition, our professors have been sent by JICA to provide expert help with the project on a short-term basis.
