  1. Undergraduates Admitted as First Year Students

(1) Requirements for graduation and criteria for subjects to be completed.
The number of minimum credits required for graduation from the undergraduate programs is as follows:

  General Education II 18 (1) Health and Physical Education Lecture, Health and Physical Education Practical training I and Health and Physical Education Practical Training II must be completed.
(2) More than 3 subjects among Optional Subjects I must be completed.
(3) Optional Subjects III can only be completed by international students. However, only up to 9 credits are included in the credits required for graduation.
(4) In principle, confirmation of credits for subjects accords with the university terms. See details in publication.
  General Education III 10 (1) More than 8 credits for one foreign language must be completed.
(2) In addition to the above, one language among English, German, French and Chinese must be chosen and 2 credits for the language chosen must be completed.
  General Education IV 6 (1) More than 3 credits in more than two subjects among Subjects by Origins in Optional Subjects I must be completed.
(2) More than 3 credits in more than two subjects among Optional Subjects II must be completed.
(3) Up to two subjects (1 credit for one subject) of General Subjects are included in the credits required for graduation.

Major Subjects Major I 30 (1) Details about acquiring the credits required for graduation depends on the criteria of each program.
<Architecture & Civil Engineering>
A total of 1.5 credits must be completed - 0.5 credits each from three fields in the Optional compulsory subjects.
In principle, those subjects open for the grade concerned based on the educational program and class schedule must be studied.
In the case of studying subjects open for the upper grades of the program that a student is in, he/she needs to get permission from the instructor responsible for his/her class (or a guidance instructor) and permission from the instructor responsible for the subjects.
(3) Subjects open in different programs (excluding experimental and practical subjects) can be studied. In order to study them, students need to get permission from the instructor responsible for their class (or their guidance instructor) and permission from the instructors responsible for the subjects.

  2 Undergraduates Admitted as Third Year Students

(1) Requirements for graduation and criteria for subjects to be completed.
The number of minimum credits required for graduation from the undergraduate programs for those admitted as third year students is as follows:

<Mechanical Engineering>
More than 14 credits among Optional Subjects III must be completed.
<Architecture & Civil Engineering>
A total of more than 12 credits must be completed - more than 3 credits each from three fields in Optional Compulsory Subjects.
<Ecological Engineering>
More than 14 credits among Optional Compulsory Subjects must be completed.
(2) In principle, subjects open for the grade concerned, based on the educational program and class schedule, must be studied.

  3 Requirements for Completion of a Master's Program

(1) Requirements for completion

The requirements to complete a Master's Program include the following: the student must have studied in a Master's Program for at least two years; the minimum credits required for completing the program must have been acquired, as shown in the following table; the students must submit a Master's thesis after receiving the necessary guidance and pass both the thesis examination and the final test. Students who achieve excellent results, however, can complete the program in a shorter time.

The 'Seminar I & II' and 'Experimental Research' for students who study mainly Social Planning Engineering subjects are designated as 'Social Planning Engineering Group Study Seminar I', 'Social Planning Engineering Group Study Seminar II' and 'Social Planning Engineering Experimental Research' respectively.

(2) Students who study mainly Social Planning Engineering Subjects can replace them with Social Planning Engineering related subjects only up to the number of credits of the subjects in the left column totalized with (1).
(3) In cases where the guidance instructor approves, part of the major subjects can be replaced with subjects from the special Master's Program in English.

(2) Application for a Degree

Only students who have acquired or are expected to acquire credits required for completion can apply for a degree. Submission details for degree theses are posted on a notice board.

  4 Requirements for Completion of a Doctoral Program

(1) Requirements for completion

The requirements to complete a Doctoral Program include the following: the student must have been in a Doctoral Program more than three years; the minimum credits required for completing the program must have been acquired, as shown in the following table; the student must submit a doctoral thesis after receiving the necessary guidance and pass in both the thesis examination and the final test. Students who achieve excellent results, however, can complete the program in a shorter time.

Subjects in the Master's Programs (special lectures on major subjects and common subjects are excluded) and subjects in different majors in the Doctoral Programs can be studied, and up to 4 credits can be included in the number of credits required for completion if the university approves the study as suitable.

(2) Application for a Degree
