The five, five-story ferroconcrete dormitory buildings can accommodate 499 students (all private rooms). Four of the buildings (A~D) are used by male undergraduate students and the other (International Building) is shared by male graduate students in the Master's programs, female students and foreign students.
There is also a building for communal use equipped with baths, mail boxes for individual use, vending machines, and other convenience. There are no restaurants in the dormitories; however, students can use the restaurant on the campus or cater for themselves using the communal kitchens. The accommodation fee is ¥4,300 (¥4,700 for the International Building) per month. Utility expenses - excluding food and telephone charges - are around ¥3,000~5,000 per month (¥5,000~7,000 in winter).
All rooms are equipped with a telephone extension. It is possible to install a direct connection with outside lines by making an individual contract with a Japanese telephone company. All expenses must be born by the student.
There is a limit on the number of rooms available in the dormitories. When the number of students requiring a room exceeds that limit, selection is made based on the students' financial situation.
For your reference, here is the success rate for acquiring a room in the dormitories in April 2002. |
