   Regular Classes

As most of the TUT undergraduate classes and the Master's programs at the graduate school are conducted in Japanese, it is essential for you to have mastered Japanese before you enter the university. However, the level achieved in basic language courses may not be sufficient for students to follow the class instruction or specialized engineering study. For that reason, TUT offers 11 classes of instruction in both the Japanese language and Japanese affairs. These classes are open to undergraduate students, graduate students and students taking particular subjects. Credits are not given.

Research students, special research students and researchers can also attend these classes if they get permission from the teachers of each of their classes. Those who want to attend the language classes are required to meet the teacher of each class and introduce themselves before commencing study. Credits are not given.

   Extra-curricular Classes

These are also some Japanese language classes for beginners held on an irregular basis. The timetable is announced in the Oshirase newsletter, on the bulletin board at International House, and so on. Credits are not given.

   Self Study

Learning materials for all levels, from beginners through to super advanced, are provided in the Self Study Room at the Language Center. They are useful not only for preparation and review of the regular and Extra carricular Japanese classes, but also for general study purposes. Please feel free to use them.
